NERJA’S 21,811 inhabitants – including 2,650 registered Britons – are set for the annual Feria that starts on Friday 8th October and continues until Tuesday October 12. Festivities kick-off at 8.30pm with a performance by a Nerja Band at the entrance to the fairground followed by the turning on of the Festival lights and fireworks at 9pm.
The election of the Festival Queen and King takes place at 11.30pm at the main marquee.
On Saturday in Plaza Tutti Frutti from noon will be various children’s activities and performances including the election of the Festival Princess and Prince.
From 2.30pm until 8pm the Orquestra Luna Flamenca and various Dj’s will entertain the crowds.
At the main marquee at 2pm is an homage to the elderly and from 6pm until late there will be various performances including ‘Alalba’, ‘Pacoyo’, and Spanish Pop Groups.
On Sunday at Plaza Tutti Frutti from noon until 8pm are various events and celebrations including ‘Tapas Day’.
At 1pm the Festival Floats will parade around the streets starting at Parque Verano Azul and through Calles Antonio Ferrandis, Jaen, Diputacion, Plaza Cavana, and Calle Carmen, Balcon de Europa, Calles Puerta del Mar, Pintada, Cantero, Avenida de Pescia, Calles Ruperto Anduez, Frigiliana and finishing at the Feria Grounds.
There will be various performances at the Main Marquee from 2pm until late.
A mass will be held at
On Monday there will be various activities and events throughout the day at Plaza Tutti Frutti from noon until 8pm.
While at the Main Marquee there will be various performances by Dance Schools from 2pm until 5pm, and at 8pm the first edition of the Festival of Rociero Choirs in Nerja will kick-off.
From 12.30am onwards are performances by Alalba.
On Tuesday at noon there will be another mass in honour of the Virgen del Pilar, patron of the Guardia Civil in
At Plaza Tutti Frutti the afternoon celebrations kicks-off at noon wil the Orquestra Luna Flamenca and various Dj’s.
While at the Main Marquee there will be performances by dance schools, Orquestra Alalba and Duo Compas.
From 2am onwards local bands will perform in ‘Nerja Rock Night’.
