This month over a dozen film crews, both national and international, will be filming in Nerja. The filming of an advert by a Dutch company is just one of the many productions going on in Nerja this month.

Euromedia Productions have been filming off the coast of Maro and Cerro Gordo. The production company knows the area well as they have filmed there before; last year they filmed part of the German film “Alles inclusive” by Doris Dorrie and the pilot of a Russian series entitled “Sunny Side of the Street”.

Taking advantage of the fact that they are all already in Nerja they are also filming an advert for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) on the Balcon de Europa and another advert for energy company EON will be filmed in the streets of the town, an advert for C & A will be filmed by the same company on Burriana beach.

National production companies will be filming “Salud al dia” for Canal Sur and a food programme for Canal Cocina. There will even be a photo shoot for Massimo Dutti on the beaches of the area.

The Nerja Caves foundation has organised a series of free activities to mark the celebrations of the 12th Week of Science.

These will allow the public to explore the natural heritage and culture of the caves and understand the results of the scientific investigations that take place there.

One of the activities, available until November 19, invites visitors to explore all of the hidden aspects of the caves with an expert.

BRITISH TV channel Channel 4 will be in Nerja to film an episode of its lifestyle show A Place in the Sun. The programme focuses on helping British people find their dream holiday home overseas, and at the same time it showcases the selected country's culture and heritage. Six people, including presenter Amanda Lamb and the person interested in buying a property, will be in Nerja from September 30 to October 4 shooting the show. A Place in the Sun has aired for seven seasons in Britain thus far, with Spain as one of the most requested destinations. This is not the first time Nerja has been chosen by a British TV channel as location for one of its shows. The BBC filmed an episode of children's series Woolly and Tig in the town at the beginning of August.
